20 things to do with kids in Las Vegas (2023)

Whether you're on vacation or a Las Vegas resident, there are plenty of fun activities for families and kids on and off the Las Vegas Strip. Off-road activities include museum exhibits, mountaineering, swimming, and auto racing. Las Vegas has a lot to offer just a few miles from the glitz and glamor of the Strip's famous casinos and resorts.

Many people are surprised to learn that Las Vegas really is a family vacation destination. There are many fun activities for kids in Las Vegas. From several water parks to children's museums, they have a bit of everything.

The Wet n' Wild water park covers more than 50 acres and features more than 25 fun attractions. In addition to the more exciting rides for older children, there are also rides specially designed for the little ones. These include Kiddie Cove and Paradise Falls. If it's full I recommend buying the liner pass so you can ride any ride. That's what Jonah and I did when we left. Hershey's World of Chocolate

Who doesn't love chocolate? Hershey's Chocolate World at the New York New York Hotel is a delicious place to spend an afternoon. Kids can star in their own Peanut Butter Cup commercial, create their own candy bars and more. You have over 800 different chocolate and Hershey candies to choose from.

Hai-Riff-Aquarium

IsHai-Riff-AquariumIt consists of 14 really cool exhibits. It is home to over 2,000 animals including crocodiles, sharks, piranhas and komodo dragons... just to name a few.

If your kids are really into Marvel's Avengers, this attraction is definitely a "must see". There are all sorts of interactive things to take part in, including a visit to Bruce Banner's lab. Seeing Avengers gear and uniforms up close is something no child will soon forget. The attraction is open every day.

Springs Preserve is a learning center for kids and adults to learn about the area including plant life, how Vegas is recycled and more. This isn't close to the strip but worth the drive in my opinion. You also have some interesting hiking opportunities on the property.

Kids will love experiencing indoor skydiving. You have an instructor with you at all times to guide you step by step on what to do. The wind tunnel is incredibly noisy and can frighten smaller children. (This particular tunnel is much louder than iFly's more common indoor skydiving facility.) Cowunga Bay

Cowabunga Bay is another great water park to visit because let's face it. Las Vegas is hot, you want to be in a pool as much as possible. We loved the lazy river here and the huge water slides. The wave pool is good too. Oh, and you can get a Dole whip here! It's one of the few places outside of Disney where you can get one.$10 Cowunga Bay Coupon.

Discovery Kindermuseum

The Discovery Kid's Museum is an excellent children's museum. There are many hands-on activities and the kids will be kept busy playing for hours. It's been remodeled, so if you remember it wasn't great, the good news is that it's a lot better.

Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat by Siegfried & Roy

The garden is small but they have maximized their space with animals. I was surprised at how many animals we saw. If you want you can swim with the dolphins. You don't have to swim with the dolphins to see them. You can go up and visit them.

High Roller Las Vegas

The High Roller is the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, with a 550 foot spire, the High Roller offers views of the Strip and the surrounding desert valley. My son loved looking around and pointing out all the different things he saw.High roller coupon

For families with older kids, Zipline at Rio is the #1 roller coaster ride in Las Vegas. Reaching 500 feet and 53 miles per hour, you can ride the highest and fastest zip line in the entire city. Puff the magic dragon at the Flamingo Hotel

KISS by Monster Mini Golf is a unique KISS themed attraction. This miniature golf course offers 13,000 square feet of indoor glow-in-the-dark fun with an 18-hole miniature golf course. The space is filled with never-before-seen KISS videos, artwork, and accessories.

Recycled Percussion is a super loud percussion show but totally kid friendly. They are energetic and easily attract the attention of children, even toddlers. My kids loved the show.

Parks and Recreation, Mountain's Edge and Red Rock

BergrandIt's a great place to travel with family all year round. Located about 15 minutes from the Strip, Mountain's Edge offers hiking and biking trails, a picnic area, playground, and a water park with an interactive fountain for kids to cool off on hot days. Perhaps the most creative feature of this park is its western theme, with most of the playground shaded by children's shop windows. The park sits at the base of a 2,846-foot mountain called Exploration Peek, where families can hike to the top and look out over all of Las Vegas. Admission is free.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation ParkIt truly is one of Nevada's hidden gems! Located just a few miles northwest of Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon is a vast and beautiful display of red, orange, and white mountains, the products of millennia of erosion and climate change. There is a 13 mile drive tour and for the adventurous visitor there are numerous hiking, horseback riding, mountaineering and picnic trails. Red Rock is worth the $5 entry fee per car.
